HMC Faith Sharing Opportunities

Well-Read Mom.  Well-Read Mom (WRM) is a nation-wide book club which accompanies women in reading great books and spiritual classics to encourage personal growth, friendship, and meaningful conversations to explore the human condition and reorient ourselves to what is good, beautiful, and true. Our group reads one book per month and meets to discuss it at 7:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month.  Please contact Emily Preisler (ejpreisler@gmail.com) for additional information.

Knights of Columbus.  The Knights of Columbus is a men’s fraternal organization that focuses on faith, family and community service.  The Knights of regular monthly meetings the fourth Thursday of each month from 7:00 – 8:00 pm and has multiple faith and community service opportunities throughout the year.  Please contact Bill Holland (wholland@redgiantanalytics.com) for additional information.

That Man Is You.  That Man Is You (TMIY) is a men’s educational and discussion group that combines the latest science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of a man fully alive. It makes an honest assessment of challenges facing men today and provides a practical path to transformation by focusing on man’s relationship with God.  TMIY meets Wednesday mornings from 6:30 – 7:30 am.  Please contact Mark Miller (mfmiller55@gmail.com) for additional information.

The Way Small Group Discussion.  The Way is a six-week small group study, prayer and discussion forum for men and women.  As Catholic disciples of Jesus, we mature to the extent that we allow the heart and habits of Jesus and his people to become ever more our own. The Way invites individuals and groups to reflect upon discipleship with Scripture, discussion questions, prayers, and prompts for spiritual exercises.  Sharon Beall will be leading a small group on Thursdays from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. starting on October 12.  Additional small group discussions may be starting this fall and will be made based on dates and times of available participants.  Please contact Sharon Beall (smbeall1@yahoo.com) or Tom Wierschem (tomonwent@charter.net) for additional information.

Coffee and Catholicism.   Coffee and Catholicism is an informal discussion group for men and women to get to know the HMC community and ask in-depth questions about their shared Catholic faith.  Coffee and Catholicism meets the last Tuesday of every month from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.  Please contact Beth Craig (beth.craig@hmocchurch.org) for additional information.

Common Ground.  Common Ground is an informal gathering for parents of HMC Faith Formation students.  Common Ground consists of short videos and informal discussions for parents to get to know each other and discuss their common faith.  Common Ground meets during Faith Formation classes which are either Sundays 9:00 – 10:00 or Wednesdays 4:30 – 5:30 for elementary school parents and Sundays 5:15 – 6:15 for middle school parents.  Please contact Becky Phillips (becky.phillips@hmocchurch.org) for additional information.
